In my academic
history, I have had much experience utilizing reading, writing and research
skills, especially in my high school English courses. Apart from the typical
assigned readings, timed essays and research papers, I engage my own reading
and writing for pleasure. I think I will do well with research papers, because
I like learning, processing and sharing information. One thing that I believe
will give me trouble will be assigned readings, because of my occasional lack
of motivation to complete it. I hope to gain an ability to write for quantity
(without disregarding quality), as my school emphasizes the 26-28 line writing
presented in STAAR testing formats.
Oh how I wish I had the same ambitions as you! Reading assigned readings is hard enough for me, but reading extra on top of it all? I couldnt. I can even tell by the language and tone of your blog that reading has made an impact on the way you write. I have a hard time as well on having both quantity and quality in my papers. The 26-28 line papers taught us to get to the point of our argument. Ive recently noticed in some of the informational books that I have been assigned to read that the author often times incorporates a plethora of examples that relate to the topic. This can add length and can even make your point more clear.
