I personally have chosen Texas Lutheran University as my choice of college.  I chose this school because of the friendly and up beat atmosphere.  The schools job is to provide the student with knowledge and skills of their major.  In the real world making a living is something you have to figure out on your own. The school helps educated and hopefully provide a student with confidence to find and achieve what their looking for in life. “The choices a student makes about his or her field of study and later career can have a large impact on what he or she gets out of her degree.”

Personally I am attending college for the experience.  I feel the experience will teach me how to manage time and become more responsible. The Chronicle states, “It’s precisely a liberal education that allowed him to catch up and move ahead.” This is what I hope to experience and achieve by attending Texas Lutheran University.

  1. Your style of choosing a college based on your atmosphere is truly remarkable; I could never choose a college based on that. Also, I wonder if the only reason you want to go to college is for the experience and time management? I f so, college might become a burden for you; try looking elsewhere for your interests. I'm not telling you what to do, but providing insightful advice.

  2. The atmosphere at Texas Lutheran University also helped me in deciding where to go. I like the fact that you can talk with your teachers one on one and that the class sizes are not enormous. TLU seems like a college that will get you where you want to be with your goals. College is a good way to learn how to manage your time wisely. I wish you the best of luck this year!

  3. The atmosphere is pretty good as it is, so I can only imagine how wonderful it'll be in the summer. I hope whatever you study is worth every moment.

  4. The atmosphere of a school is a great characteristic someone should pay attention to when choosing a school. I believe that a people change, based on the type of atmosphere they live in. For example, children who grow up in rough neighborhoods may have the tendency to be rough. And children who grow up with an abundance of love and kindness, tend to be nicer because that is all they know. Texas Lutheran has an upbeat, positive atmosphere which is important to attain because this quality can set someone apart in live which will help them be successful.

  5. I completely agree about attending college for the experience. Yes, getting your education is important but what fun is it if all you do is just sit in your dorm and study?

  6. Employers often look at college as a credential--as evidence that a potential employee is responsible and has learned how to manage his or her workload and time. I think Madison's reasons are perfectly valid--and in line with what many employers think about college.
