Blog 3: Ben Greif
My first interaction with anything relating to comics, would be the funnies from the Sunday Chronicle. My dad would read the big news stories while I read the funnies. I have always been more interested in the animation than the actual manga or comics. For example, as a kid I watched a show called Naruto rather than reading the actual comic. I tried reading it, but the bad social stigma from it made me stop reading it. It felt like a walk of shame when I picked it up at the local library. So, I just watched the show at home in peace. I recently read AOT, which is a great show about a society enclosed by wall that the people inside from the titans that reside outside. This comic is all about the survival of the human race. The main character faces many conflicts with the idea of survival and the value of all human beings. I have never read superhero comics. They were never readily available to me as a kid. I read a lot but I never really cam into contact with them. I also never really got fascinated with superheroes. I have always like the stories where the main character starts off weak, but works hard to become strong overcoming challenges along the way.
