Ever since I was in elementary school I've had a hard time reading. I used to absolutely hated it when the teach would make us read during class time.  Most of the time I would just pick a random book and "read" during that time. I never found any books that were in my words worth reading. Until in 3rd grade I found series Diary of a Whimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. I read every single one of those book and after I was done I read them again. After that I was always looking for books that were as good as them, which made me read a lot. I actually was enjoying reading and not hating it like I used to all my life. Now as a upcoming Junior I have found a new favorite author, Sara Dessen, and finished all of book as well. Even though the Diary of a Whimpy Kid is kind of a weird and strange book it made me start reading which I'm so thankful it did.

  1. I too love Sara Dessen, she has also inspired me to do more reading over the years. Dessen has inspired me to take my journey of exploring the english literature to the next level. To know something as simple as picking up the Diary of the Wimpy Kid book can inspire one to become an avid reader is amazing!

  2. That is so good though! Reading is portrayed as overrated by society today and is so far overlooked. As a culture reading has created more intellegent and more advancing culture. That is so hard to do though because we want to know but we do not want to sit down and absorb the knowledge. I am proud of you! That is so hard to do.
