When I was younger, my parents thought reading graphic novels were too "boyish" so I wasn't allowed to read them. They didn't want outside influence to make me more tomboyish. But my dad grew up with the Archie Comics so when we went to the store he would sneak me the Archie Comics series. I grew up with Betty, Veronica, Archie, and Jughead as the "friends" from the comics I read. I was allowed the news paper comics on occasion but it was not the same to me as the Archie Comics, which were my favorite because for me, it was my childhood. If I had the chance growing up I would have read more comics. But I still think that the Archie Comics would have still been my favorite. Although the X-men comics would probably come a close second. I got the chance to somewhat read them, because I had to sneak what I could from my parents, last year.
