Comics Blog 3

My short-lived experience with comics also came from the Sunday newspaper. I didn't actively grab the page and read them. However, if my parents found one that was particularly funny, they would put it on the fridge and I would read. I would have to say that my only experience reading a comic would have to be a manga adaption of the book series Maximum Ride by James Patterson. This really helped me to appreciate comics as a whole. It takes the pictures in my head, for the most part, and puts them on a paper, but I still have to read it. This allows me to appreciate both the artistic quality of the comic itself as well as the dialogue and narration. I can't say that I am an avid reader of comics right now, but if they are still around in the future, I want my kids to read them so they can understand the importance of comics. I also want them to understand their history and the roles they played.
