Childhood Comics

When I was around the age of five to seven, I absolutely devoured anything that had the title "Spider-Man" in it.  Everything from movies, books, comics, games, you name it, I loved all of it.  That being said, I had my fair share of comic reading as far as the super-hero went.  I remember excitingly picking up a new title every now and then, and reading it from start to finish multiple times the first night getting my hands on it.  The character of Peter Parker as a whole was completely lovable for me as a kid, the snarky lines, geeky persona, and confidence really drew you into trying to relate to him as much as you could.  Not only this, but the setting of New York, it's inhabitants, architecture, villains, and multiple story lines made me constantly want more and more of the wonderful universe I loved back then.  However, I never really dived into comics besides that, and I don't even think I've touched one since I became a teen.  I still think it's a wonderful thing for everyone to get into and find passion for, regardless of your age, just like a movie or video game.

  1. I love your explanation and grounding in this text. It really shows your emotions of how you felt about the comics. It shows that you didnt even just connect with them one a readers level, but a personal level. The best thing about reading is getting excited about a read or title, and it makes me happy as well. Do you still read spider man now?

  3. Although Spider-Man under Dan Slott has gotten kind of convoluted, it's still worth checking out.
