Blog 2- College
I would like to attend college at Cambridge in the United Kingdom. Cambridge is a very prestigious school and excels in all of the fields of study I am looking into. It is also culturally diverse which, while most people would scoff at this reason; is very important to me because I believe it will allow me to open myself up to new ideas and opinions and learn outside of the classroom as well as within it. I feel that I have the determination and skill to do well in college and Charles Murray would agree as “the students who are in the top percentiles of academic ability,” (Murray 5) are the ones who will go to complete and enjoy college. However, this education comes at a high price and “the more someone has to pay to attend, the lower the net benefit of attending.” (Owen and Sawhill 1) My parents cringe at the thought of the tuition, but the investment for my college should come from myself and I know that if I can get accepted and pay for college myself then I will become a better person overall.

Attending Cambridge would be a wonderful experience that I hope you can achieve one day. Opening up yourself to new cultures by traveling to the United Kingdom is definitely a once in a life time opportunity. I hope that you will be able to achieve your dream of attending Cambridge.
ReplyDeleteIt is good that you want a higher education. I believe the problem with most people is that they just go to college to go to college. Hopefully you are able to maintain good grades while trying to pay for college. I got lucky, my parents are paying for my education.
