I have recently been looking a colleges near me. My parents do not have a ton of money to work with, so I need scholarships and may even need to live at home while I attend college. So the colleges that I have been looking at have been UT Medical Center, UH, and A&M. If I were to go to UH I could live with my parent to save them some money. I have some cousins that live in Austin and would probably allow me to stay with them if I chose to go to A&M. I'm going to major in BSN, so I am in no way worried about jobs after I graduate. Nursing jobs abundantly available. I can eventually move up to being a nurse anesthetist. Nursing can be a very well paying job. Good nurses can get pay raises and overtime can accelerate the amount of money that you make even more. Charles Murray explains,"More people should be getting the basics of a liberal education. But
for most students, the places to provide those basics are elementary and middle
school." . He also says,"This core knowledge is an important part of
the glue that holds the culture together". These mean that people should know what they want to be and explore other option as a backup.
I agree man, my parents didn't have a lot of money to begin with. It was a struggle knowing I wanted to come to TLU but not having the money. I struggled getting stuff together. I stressed through school but I still kept in mine that the reward outweighed the risk.
